Ce projet minier polym\u00e9tallique situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Mabouni\u00e9, au Gabon, regorge d'une multitude de min\u00e9raux, parmi lesquels le niobium (class\u00e9 deuxi\u00e8me au monde), les terres rares, le tantale, le scandium, les phosphates et de petites quantit\u00e9s d'uranium. \r\n<br\/>La majeure partie de la production aurif\u00e8re du Gabon (2 tonnes par an) est assur\u00e9e par la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Ressources Golden Grams (REG), une filiale de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 marocaine MANAGEM, tandis que le tiers restant provient de producteurs artisanaux locaux. MANAGEM a achev\u00e9 l'exploitation du site de Bakoudou et poursuit ses \u00e9tudes sur le gisement d'Eteke, pr\u00e8s de Mouila (sud), qui pourrait produire 1,5 tonne par an, avec des r\u00e9serves estim\u00e9es \u00e0 plus de 23 tonnes. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 chinoise Jilin Mining Resources (JMR) a sign\u00e9 un contrat de partage de production avec l'\u00c9tat en octobre 2019. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Alpha Centauri Mining, d\u00e9tenue par des investisseurs de Londres et des \u00c9mirats, a obtenu plusieurs permis dans la r\u00e9gion de Ndjol\u00e9.\r\n<br\/>Le principal gisement de fer du Gabon se trouve \u00e0 Belinga, dans le nord-est du pays. D\u00e9couvert en 1895 et confirm\u00e9 par une campagne de prospection en 1955, il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l'un des plus grands gisements inexploit\u00e9s au monde, avec des r\u00e9serves estim\u00e9es \u00e0 plus d'un milliard de tonnes. Le contrat d'exploitation a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 IVINDO IRON SA. En 2014, un contrat d'\u00e9valuation a \u00e9t\u00e9 sign\u00e9 avec le groupe ANGLO-SAXON SX\u2019RK CONSULTING pour \u00e9valuer le potentiel des sites en question. Malheureusement, leurs travaux ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interrompus en raison des difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res de l'\u00c9tat gabonais.\r\n<br\/>Les mines de Milingui, dans la province de la Nyanga, et celles des Monts de Cristal, au nord de Libreville, renferment respectivement 150 millions et 100 millions de tonnes de minerai de fer. En f\u00e9vrier 2018, un accord-cadre sur l'exploitation de Milingui a \u00e9t\u00e9 conclu entre le Gabon et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 sud-africaine Havilah Consolidated Resources, avec un investissement estim\u00e9 \u00e0 1 milliard de dollars.\r\n<br\/>Le Gabon poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement un potentiel diamantif\u00e8re. Plusieurs soci\u00e9t\u00e9s, dont De Beers, Southernera (Canada) et Motopa (Australie), ont men\u00e9 des campagnes d'exploration dans ce secteur. Bien que l'exploration ait \u00e9t\u00e9 suspendue temporairement, les permis ont \u00e9t\u00e9 rendus au domaine public.\r\n<br\/>L'\u00c9tat gabonais a manifest\u00e9 sa volont\u00e9 de jouer un r\u00f4le majeur dans le secteur extractif.
